Yavapai County residents should check their kitchens to make sure they do not have any meat products from the country of Myanmar. Yavapai County Community Health Services reports the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for various meat and poultry products illegally imported from Myanmar. The department is investigating how these products entered the country.
The following products are subject to the public health alert, regardless of the product date: “Best Beef Curry,” “Best Chicken Biryani,” “Hti Mi Gwik Dry Mohinga Paste,” “Best Myanmar Duck Blood,” “Eain Chak Mohinga Paste,” “Min Thar Gyi Dried Fish,” and “Eain Chak Coconut Soup Paste.” None of these products bear a USDA inspection seal.
These meat products were shipped to retailers in nine states, including Arizona and California. If you have any of these products, either throw them out or return them to the store of purchase.
