A 14-year-old boy is dead after being struck while riding his bicycle in Prescott Valley.
The accident occurred Tuesday evening just before 5:30 p.m. According to police reports, a vehicle struck the cyclist on Viewpoint Drive between Manley Drive and Long Mesa Drive. The boy was flown to a Phoenix hospital where he passed away from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy was detained by police. The investigation into this fatal accident is continuing.
