The Bradshaw Mountain football team faced a tough challenge Friday when they opened the 4A Conference State Playoffs against number five seed Thunderbird. The number 12 Bears got on the board first with a rushing touchdown by Kylin Jackson early in the first quarter.
Thunderbird took the lead later in the quarter, but Bradshaw Mountain stayed close throughout the first half, trailing by eight points with one minute remaining before halftime. Thunderbird scored another touchdown just before the half and extended their lead in the second half, ultimately securing a 49-20 win.
Jackson finished the night with two rushing touchdowns for the Bears, and Brayden Munday added a pick-six. Bradshaw Mountain ends the season with a 7-4 record. Thunderbird will face number four Mica Mountain this Friday.
