PHS Football Subdued by Snowflake in State Playoffs

The Prescott football team looked to avoid a repeat of their state playoff game two years ago at Snowflake, where they lost to the Lobos 23-3. In Friday’s Elite Eight game in the White Mountains, the Badgers got off to a strong start, going up 13-7 in the first quarter.

But Snowflake’s turned up its offense, led by quarterback Jacob LaDuke. The East Sky Region Offensive Player of the Year had four rushing touchdowns. The Lobos’ defense kept Prescott out of the end zone the rest of the night to hand them a 49-13.

For the Badgers, Uriah Tenette had a rushing touchdown and a touchdown pass to Isaac Briseno. Tenette also recorded a sack, and Brody Hanna had 21 tackles.

Prescott finishes the 2024 season with a 10-2 overall record and the Grand Canyon Region championship. Snowflake, meanwhile, heads to the Final Four of state this coming Friday. They are at Arizona College Prep, who defeated Arcadia 35-14 in the Elite Eight.
