Local scoreboard from the weekend, in post-season action, at the NAIA national cross country meet, the Embry-Riddle men finished 9th, with junior Demetris Love as the individual national runner-up. For the women, freshman Sophia Noriega placed 23rd.
In basketball, for the guys, Yavapai College lost to Eastern Arizona 85-81. The Embry-Riddle men dropped their games to Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho 85-72 and 92-63, respectively. Noah Gifft posted 22 points versus College of Idaho. Bradshaw Mountain fell to Scottsdale Saguaro 54-27. Preston Ranniker notched 12 points. Mayer was defeated by Williams 45-26.
For the women, Yavapai College was topped by Eastern Arizona 90-42. Embry-Riddle lost to Montana State-Northern and Providence 79-73 and 67-51. Ella Schott garnered 22 points against Northern. Prescott dominated Arcadia 69-14. Addie Prisciandaro registered 17 points. Bradshaw Mountain lost to Scottsdale Saguaro 47-37. Emma Johnson put up 12 points. Mayer fell to Williams 40-17. Isabella Morales notched 8 points.
The Embry-Riddle wrestling team lost to ASU 48-5. The Eagles’ lone win came from 125-pounder Landon Smith.
