The last time the Embry-Riddle and UC Merced women’s soccer teams met was last year in the Cal Pac Championship game, with the Lady Bobcats earning a 2-1 win. On Saturday, the former conference rivals faced off again in a national tournament game.
Merced struck first with a goal by Yareli Hernandez halfway through the first half. The Lady Eagles came within inches of equalizing on three different occasions but could not convert. That proved costly, as Embry-Riddle lost 1-0, bringing their season to a close.
Coach Todd Poitras tells The News:
Embry-Riddle finishes its 2024 season with a record of 15-3-3.
