Drought conditions remain the same in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, just like last week, the southwestern corner of the county near Congress is in extreme drought. The extreme drought also extends to Yuma, La Paz, and Mohave counties. The southern part of the county is in severe drought, while the central part of the county is in moderate drought. The northeastern part of Yavapai is abnormally dry.
As for the rest of the state, much of northern Arizona is abnormally dry or in moderate drought. The eastern and central areas of the state are in either severe drought or moderate drought. Much of southern Arizona is in either moderate drought or abnormally dry.
Because of the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is high. Everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or spark to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
