Just one week from Saturday, thousands of people will attend the 42nd annual Christmas Parade and the 70th annual Courthouse Lighting and Fireworks in downtown Prescott.
“Heroes of the Holiday” is this year’s Christmas Parade theme, highlighting individuals who bring joy and light to the season. With 130 parade entries, this will be the largest parade Prescott has ever hosted. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., floats, marching bands, festive music, and, of course, Santa himself will fill downtown Prescott. After the parade, kids can meet Santa on the Courthouse Plaza until 5 p.m.
At 6 p.m., Prescott will host its 70th annual Courthouse Lighting Ceremony. Live Christmas music begins at 5 p.m., followed by the lighting, which will include more than 80 glowing trees on the plaza illuminated with more than a million LED lights. To top it off, a fireworks display will light up the night sky.
