The Bradshaw Mountain girls soccer team saw plenty of action to start their 2024-2025 season.
The Lady Bears participated in the Battle of Ironwood and began the tournament Thursday with a 1-0 loss to Rio Rico. Friday, however, saw Bradshaw dominate their opponents. First, they upended Fountain Hills 6-0, with Maria Rodriguez scoring twice. Next, they blanked Florence 3-0, with goals from Sarah Duarte, Destiny Couch, and Stephanie Warapius.
The Lady Bears began their Saturday schedule with a 2-0 victory over Tempe Prep. Iliana Smith and Emma Seets recorded the goals. That win put Bradshaw Mountain into the semifinals for a matchup against San Miguel. Neither side scored in regulation, so the game was decided on penalty kicks. The Lady Vipers succeeded on four attempts, while the Lady Bears notched two.
Bradshaw ended the Battle of Ironwood with a 3-2 record.
