The Yavapai College men’s basketball team stayed close with Southern Nevada throughout the first half of last night’s game, but the Coyotes pulled away before halftime to go up by ten. The Roughriders rallied in the second half, but came up short 98-91. No individual stats for Yavapai were made available prior to airtime.
The women were also in action last night, but Yavapai fell to Southern Nevada 91-47. Bradshaw Mountain grad Ellie Bennett registered eight points in the first half. Aysja Ward had a big third quarter with three blocks and a three-pointer as time expired in the frame. Final individual stats were not made available prior to airtime.
The Yavapai men are now 2-10 on the season and the women are 2-7. Both squads hit the court again this Saturday when they travel to Scottsdale College. Those will be the final games for the month of December for the Roughriders and the Lady Riders.
