There will be a new coach leading the Yavapai College men’s soccer team next season. Chris Houser has stepped down as bench boss for the Roughriders.
In his three years at the helm of YC, he amassed a record of 23-16-3. This past season, Houser led the Roughriders to the Region One Championship game, losing to Arizona Western 1-0. Houser says he has taken a job at Grand Canyon University.
Prior to coming to Yavapai College, Houser played in the MLS and for the U.S. Men’s National Team. He was also a member of the Southern Connecticut State men’s soccer team that went to the NCAA Final Four in 1995. Houser was just the third coach in the history of YC men’s soccer, following Andre Lucciano and Hall of Famer Mike Pantalione.
Houser is the seventh coach to part ways with Yavapai College over the past two years.
