Advisory Issued for Broccoli

A warning to tri-city area residents who have broccoli in their kitchen. Yavapai County Community Health Services announced that Braga Fresh has issued an advisory for a single production lot of washed and ready-to-eat 12-ounce Marketside broccoli with a “best if used by” date of December tenth, 2024.

This product is past its best by date and is no longer in stores, but some people may have frozen the item for later use. Consumers who have this broccoli in their freezers should not eat it but instead throw it out.

This advisory is due to the possibility of listeria contamination. The potential for contamination was discovered during random sampling by Texas Health and Human Services from a Texas store location, where one of the samples yielded a positive test result. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this broccoli.
