There has been a rash of phone scams in Yavapai County. Scammers are posing as representatives of the Verde Valley Fire District asking for donations.
The VVFD wants to make it clear to citizens they do not make solicitation calls. To protect yourself, do not share any personal or financial information over the phone and hang up if you suspect a scammer is calling you.
