Tuesday marked the start of Grand Canyon Region play for the Prescott girls soccer team, and they certainly put their stamp on the region. The Lady Badgers carried out a full-frontal assault on the goal, peppering Mingus’ netminder with 27 shots. Six of those shots went in as Prescott’s defense shut down the Lady Marauders to secure a 6-0 victory.
Delainey Courtney recorded two goals and an assist for the Lady Badgers. Rianna Aguilar put the ball in the net twice. Kenzie Blanchard also had a goal, and Violet Williams and Alana Gilray both had two assists.
The win puts Prescott’s record at 4-0-1 on the season. They are also ranked number one in power points in the 4A Conference. Next up for the Lady Badgers: they are home again Thursday to face Mohave, then wrap up their five-game homestand January 20th versus Cactus Shadows.
