Plane Executes Emergency Landing Near Airport

Several agencies were dispatched to respond to an emergency plane landing Saturday.

At around noon, Central Arizona Fire and Medical, Lifeline Ambulance, and the Prescott Police Department were dispatched to an area west of the airport after receiving reports of a downed aircraft. Initial reports indicate the plane experienced a loss of power while the pilot was attempting to return to the airport.

Upon losing power, the pilot executed emergency landing procedures and was able to safely land the plane without injury. The cause of the mechanical failure is under investigation.
