A lot was at stake in this game when it came to power points and the Grand Canyon Region standings. The Prescott and Mingus girls basketball teams faced off last night under the dome, with the Lady Badgers entering the contest ranked number 13 in power points and the Lady Marauders ranked number seven in the 4A Conference. Both teams were battling for second place in the region.
Prescott excelled on defense and at rebounding, going up by ten over Mingus in the first half. However, the Lady Marauders fought back in the second half to take the lead. The Lady Badgers regrouped in the fourth quarter to outscore the opposition 17-10, capped off by a three-pointer and two successful free throws by Bella Abt to secure the 47-41 victory.
Abt finished the night with 20 points, and Addie Prisciandaro notched 14 points. Prescott is now 14-5 overall on the season.
