The Yavapai College men’s basketball team played their fifth game in a row away from Prescott last night as they were down in Coolidge to battle Central Arizona. It proved a tight game throughout the night, but the Roughriders managed to just stay ahead of the Vaqueros to pick up the 76-73 win.
Another impressive game for Nadir Myers. Last week’s ACCAC player of the week recorded 24 points. Prescott High School alum Jason Parent netted 16 points. Kyle Robinson, Junior, Martin De Laporterie, and Raphael Dupouy all posted ten points apiece. The win puts Yavapai’s record at 8-13 on the season.
It was a different story in the women’s game. Yavapai got topped by Central Arizona 70-42. Bradshaw Mountain grad Ellie Bennett tallied 14 points. Amani Arraf garnered nine points, and Jon’Qora Moore netted eight points. The Lady Riders are now 4-11 on the season.
Both the Yavapai men and women are home Saturday to take on Arizona Western.
