After staging a dominant 109-29 rout of Mohave last Friday, the Prescott boys’ basketball team came back to earth Tuesday in snowy Flagstaff, where they took on Coconino.
The Badgers managed to stay just ahead of the Panthers in the first half, going into halftime with a 34-27 lead. But in the second half, Prescott turned it on and widened the gap, culminating in a 77-55 victory. Uriah Tenette posted 26 points, Zane Gaul notched 12, Tommy Richardson added 12, Cooper Magnett compiled 11, Josiah Peoples netted 10, and Sebasthyn Vanderploeg put up nine. As a team, Prescott nailed 14 three-pointers.
The Badgers are on a nine-game winning streak. They are 14-5 overall on the season and ranked number two in the 4A Conference. Prescott hosts Bradshaw Mountain tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m., and you can hear the game on our new sports station, The Team 1450 AM KNOT.
