PHS Girls Soccer Blanks Flagstaff

The weather in Flagstaff was miserable Tuesday, with cold winds blowing across the pitch at Flagstaff High School. The Prescott girls’ soccer team, however, powered through the winter storm as they took on the Lady Eagles.

After having their three-game shutout streak snapped last Friday by Notre Dame Prep, the Lady Badger defense got back on track and stymied Flagstaff’s offense. Meanwhile, Prescott got on the board twice and secured a 2-0 win. Violet Williams notched both Lady Badgers’ goals in the second half of the match, with Kenzie Blanchard and Alanna Gilray credited for the assists.

The win puts Prescott’s record at 7-1-1 on the season. They are also 2-0 in Grand Canyon Region play and ranked number one in the 4A Conference in power points. The Lady Badgers return to Flagstaff on Thursday to take on Coconino.
