The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office dispatched search and rescue teams to find two groups of hikers who got lost in Sedona on Tuesday.
The first call came in around 5 p.m. from a woman who said she was with her four children near Devil’s Bridge when a snowstorm moved in. One of the adult children went off on her own and, when she returned to the trailhead, could not make contact with the rest of her family.
As that was happening, the Sheriff’s Office received a call about another group of hikers who became lost in the snowstorm in roughly the same area.
Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Verde Search and Rescue team managed to locate all eight hikers by 8 p.m. The hikers were cold and wet but suffered no injuries.
