Nadir Myers has had the hot hand for the Yavapai College basketball team of late, putting up a massive amount of points. But in last night’s contest at the College of Southern Nevada, the Coyotes limited him to just six points. That’s when several other Roughriders stepped up their offense on a night when every point mattered. YC just kept ahead of Southern Nevada to get the 69-67 win.
Prescott High School alum Jason Parent led all Roughriders in scoring with 32 points. He also snagged nine rebounds. Martin De Laporterie registered 12 points and six rebounds. Kyle Robinson Jr. garnered 11 points and five assists. Deyishon Miller recorded seven rebounds. The win puts Yavapai’s record at 10-13 on the season.
It was another rough night for the Yavapai College women’s basketball team as they lost to Southern Nevada 87-44. Bradshaw Mountain grad Ellie Bennett was the only Lady Rider to score in double digits with 19 points. Courtenay Lee put up nine points. YC is 4-13 on the season.
