A full closure of southbound I-17 near Bumble Bee is planned for next week. The closure is necessary to accommodate the removal of the old bridge at Bumble Bee Road. Drivers will be funneled into one lane heading toward Sunset Point, then will exit the interstate and re-enter it at Bumble Bee Road. The speed limit along the detour route is 25 miles per hour.
Work takes place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday. In addition to the overnight closures on southbound I-17, the northbound I-17 off-ramp at Bumble Bee Road will be closed beginning Monday and running through March 21st.
Bumble Bee Road will also be closed to traffic in both directions beginning Monday and lasting until March 21st.
