Local HS Soccer Teams Learn Opponents for State Tournament Openers

It’s playoff time for our local high school soccer teams. The AIA released the brackets for the boys and girls state tournaments over the weekend.

The Prescott girls soccer team qualified for the open division as the number six seed, joining 31 other teams from the 4A, 5A, and 6A conferences in that tournament. The Lady Badgers host number 27 Paradise Honors. Prescott is 10-1-1 going into that game, while the Lady Panthers are 11-1. The game takes place tomorrow at 6 p.m.

On the boys’ side, both Prescott and Bradshaw Mountain made it to the 4A Conference state play-in round. The Badgers are the number 12 seed and will host number 21 Arcadia. Prescott is 7-4-1 in their power point games and the Titans are 5-7.

Bradshaw, the number 15 seed, hosts number 18 Coconino. In their regular season meeting, the Bears shut out the Panthers 4-0. Both games take place Friday at 6 p.m.
