Local scoreboard from the weekend, in post-season action, in the 1A Central Region basketball tournament, the Mayer boys lost to Joseph City 58-28, and the Mayer girls fell to Mogollon 68-23. Girls wrestling sectionals, Prescott’s Gianna May and Chino Valley’s Abigail Lubic were both runners-up in their weight classes.
In basketball, for the guys, Embry-Riddle got by Park 60-58. Jacey Canalin posted 15 points. Ladies, Embry-Riddle came up short to Park 76-73. Mehgan Strickler recorded 14 points and nine rebounds.
In baseball, Embry-Riddle split with Nelson, winning game one 20-4 and dropping the second game 7-5. Roberto Garza-Nunez drove in five runs in game one.
