Not one, but two state tournament games involving Prescott teams are on tap for tonight. The Open Division of the state tournament for boys basketball begins tonight, involving teams from the 4A, 5A, and 6A conferences. The Badgers go into the tournament as the number 16 seed. They will host number 17 seed Brophy Prep in a rematch of last year’s Open Division first-round game. The Broncos won that game 74-61. This year, Prescott enters this match-up with a 20-5 record and riding a 15-game winning streak. Brophy is 14-10.

Meanwhile, the Prescott boys soccer team is in Tucson tonight for the opening round of the 4A Conference state tournament. The number ten seeded Badgers take on number seven Mica Mountain. Prescott is 7-4-1 on the season, and the Thunderbolts are also 7-4-1. The game starts at 6 p.m.
