Local scoreboard from yesterday, the Yavapai College baseball team swept Thompson Rivers 12-1 and 8-5. Justin Cherrington homered and drove in four runs in game one.
Speaking of Yavapai baseball, one of its players got a big award. Pitcher Traig Oughton was named the Conference Player of the Week. He threw a perfect game against Community Christian last Friday.
