Both of Bradshaw Mountain’s basketball teams take their shots at a berth in the state tournament proper. The 4A Conference state play-in rounds begin tonight. The girls hit the court first, with the number 25 ranked Lady Bears facing Grand Canyon Region foe Mingus, who are the number 12 seed. Bradshaw is 8-10 in its power point games, while the Lady Marauders are 13-5. In their regular season meetings, Mingus won both games. Tip-off from Cottonwood is 7 p.m. tonight.
Tomorrow, it’s the boys’ turn in the state play-in tournament. It’s another all-Grand Canyon Region match-up as number 19 Bradshaw Mountain is in Flagstaff to battle number 14 Coconino. In power point games, the Bears are 10-8 and the Panthers are 14-4. Coco swept the regular season series, with both games decided by three points. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
