The Bradshaw Mountain girls basketball team went into Thursday’s state play-in game at quite the disadvantage. The squad’s leading scorer, Kalli Smith, was unavailable due to an injury. Mingus pulled away from the Lady Bears, who were unable to catch up and lost 59-25. Presley Connolly notched seven points for Bradshaw, and Emma Johnson compiled five points.
The Lady Marauders advance to the 4A Conference state tournament proper. The Lady Bears conclude their season with an overall record of 9-13.
Other scores from last night’s state play-in round: Number 23 Rio Rico upset number 14 Scottsdale Saguaro 55-46. Walden Grove flattened Greenway 74-45. Agua Fria waxed Combs 44-24. Amphitheater thumped St. Mary’s 55-26. Ironwood Ridge drilled Sahuarita 60-30, and Tucson Sahuaro blasted Yuma 73-37.
