U.S.A. Today came out with its high school sports awards nominees for Arizona for the 2024 fall season. This is for football, flag football, girls volleyball, cross country, swim, golf, and badminton. Among the nominees are two Prescott athletes.
Delainey Courtney is up for flag football defensive player of the year. She was the 4A Conference defensive player of the year, as well as the Mountain Sky Region defensive player of the year. Courtney amassed 120 tackles, nine sacks, seven interceptions, and eleven pass deflections.
Also nominated for athlete of the year is golf’s Jonathan Tso. He was ranked the number one golfer in the state and won the section championship.
The winners will be announced at the Arizona high school sports awards show June 4th at the Orpheum Theater in Phoenix.
