With a win, they were in. The Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team was in California last night for the regular season finale versus Life Pacific, with a spot in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference playoffs on the line. The Warriors led at halftime 34-30 and led for a good portion of the second half. But the Eagles went on a late run to take the lead and get the win, final score 76-74. That secured the number four seed in the GSAC tournament for Riddle.
Noah Gifft tallied 14 points for the Eagles. Peter Dress garnered 13 points and Jacey Canalin registered 12 points. The Eagles begin tournament play next Saturday.
The Riddle women, meanwhile, were out of the running for a post-season spot and just looking to finish their season on a positive note. They did just that last night, going up 18-9 over Life Pacific in the first quarter and never looking back as they got the win 56-48.
Ella Schott posted ten points and Mehgan Strickler recorded nine points and nine rebounds.
