The Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team heads into the post-season with some impressive awards under their belt. Noah Gifft was named the Great Southwest Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year. In his debut season, the native of Surprise averaged 16.2 points per game, the third best mark in the conference. He also led the GSAC with 49 three-pointers. Rounding out his stats, Gifft had 90 rebounds, 24 assists, 30 steals, and two blocks.
Ben Tucker was named the GSAC Coach of the Year. After finishing 8-19 in his first year at the helm of the Eagles, the team ended the regular season with a 13-14 overall record this year and secured the fourth seed in the GSAC tournament.
Tucker, Gifft, and the rest of the Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team return to action tomorrow when they face The Master’s University in the GSAC semi-finals.
