ERAU Softball Finishes Tucson Invite 2-2

The Embry-Riddle softball team ended their run Sunday in the Tucson Invitational Games with a split, losing to Madonna University 6-2 and beating St. Francis 9-6. Monday, in the words of Yogi Berra, it was déjà vu all over again. They began the day facing their former Cal Pac rival La Sierra University and tried to claw their way out of a 6-0 hole in the third inning, but fell short 11-7. Leah Salas had two home runs and three RBIs for the Lady Eagles. Katie Jamieson had a two-run single.

In their final game of the invite, Embry-Riddle fell behind again, trailing Concordia 4-3 in the fifth inning. But a four-run sixth propelled them to a 7-4 triumph. Kealy Myhre tripled and drove in three runs. Vanessa Brink was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

Embry-Riddle is home this Friday and Saturday for a pair of double-headers with Benedictine-Mesa.
