A nail-biter in Surprise between the Prescott and Paradise Honors boys’ tennis teams Tuesday. The score was tied 4-all with the number four singles match still playing it out. Paxton Brown battled it out with the Panthers’ Landon Kucik, and pulled out the win with a 7-5 and 6-4 score. James Wood and Carter Thompson both had dominating days for the Badgers. In singles, Wood won his match 6-0, 6-0, and Thompson won his match 6-2, 6-1. The pair also teamed up for doubles and won 8-0. Prescott is off to a 2-0 start.
The Prescott girls, meanwhile, had a much easier time with Paradise Honors. They dispatched the Lady Panthers 9-0. Makenzie Lanford and Sophie Viterbo both won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. Ciara Coleman and Alder Aten both won their singles matches 6-1, 6-0. The Lady Badgers are also 2-0 to start the season.
