Heritage Park Zoo Has a Plan to Cope With Natural Disasters

With the threat of a wildfire increasing, local treasures are at risk, including Prescott’s Heritage Park Zoo. Executive Director Pam McLaren tells The News they have a plan to keep their animals safe should a fire get close to the zoo:

McLaren says the zoo maintains contingency plans for its animals for all disasters common to the area. For example, in the event of a nearby wildfire, the zoo has indoor shelters to protect more sensitive animals from smoke and other contaminants.
