Update on Attempted Kidnapping Arrest in Clarkdale

The Clarkdale Police Department announced it has arrested a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of a student outside the Clarkdale Jerome School Monday afternoon.

According to Clarkdale Police, the incident happened around 1 p.m. Witnesses state the suspect was filming in the girls’ bathroom located outside near the soccer field. When students entered the restroom, he grabbed one of them by the arm. The student was able to get away. The man then scaled the fence and ran toward a wooded area near Number One Foods.

Clarkdale Police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Micah Andrew Hines. He confessed to the crimes shortly after his arrest. He was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center on two counts of kidnapping, two counts of voyeurism, two counts of surreptitious recording, two counts of aggravated assault of a minor, one count of trespassing, and one count of interfering with an educational institution.
