The time it takes for an EMS crew to respond to a moderate risk incident in Prescott has increased over the past year. That issue came up during a fire department overview at Tuesday’s Prescott City Council meeting.
Battalion Chief Ralph Lucas explains:
In 2023, the average EMS response time to a moderate risk incident was 12 minutes, 33 seconds. In 2024, that response time went up to 13 minutes, 29 seconds. The goal is eight minutes.
The response time for a moderate risk fire suppression incident has gotten better for the Prescott Fire Department. In 2023, the average time to get to the incident was 12 minutes, 28 seconds. In 2024, the average time decreased to 11 minutes, 49 seconds. Again, the goal is eight minutes.
