ERAU Softball Vanquishes Nelson

Game one Wednesday featured one heck of a pitcher’s duel between Vanessa Brink of the Embry-Riddle softball team and Nelson University’s Kelly Katalbas. After giving up a two-run home run to Jade Bayless in the first inning, Katalbas handcuffed the Lady Eagles for pretty much the rest of the game. But Brink also put the chill on the Lady Warriors’ offense, allowing just one run and four hits while striking out seven. The end result was a 3-1 victory for Riddle.

Game two was a complete 180 as Embry-Riddle creamed Nelson 16-2. Lily Anderson homered and drove in four runs. Bayless had her second home run of the day. Leah Salas and Kealey Myhre also went yard. Arianna Garcia tripled and drove in four runs.

The Lady Eagles are now 15-3 on the season and are on a nine-game winning streak. They are at Hope International this Friday and Saturday.
