The Bradshaw Mountain baseball team got off to a good start in Wednesday’s contest against St. Mary’s. They took a 5-1 lead after two innings of play. The Knights, however, went on a tear and jumped ahead of the Bears 6-5 in the top of the fourth. Bradshaw scratched out a run in the bottom of the frame to tie the score. Then in the bottom of the fifth, the Bears exploded for six runs to take an 11-6 lead. St. Mary’s drew closer in the late innings, but Bradshaw Mountain held on for the 13-10 win.
Garison Jones drove in three runs for the Bears. Drew Strader and Dylan Lockwood both had two RBIs and three runs scored. Donovan Bayard had two RBIs.
Bradshaw Mountain is now 8-4 overall on the season. They host Mingus tomorrow, then travel to Poston Butte Saturday. On Monday, it’s rivalry night as the Bears host Prescott at 7 p.m.
