The Chino Valley softball team got out to a 4-0 lead over Odyssey Institute in the first inning, which wasn’t too bad. Then the Lady Cougars went on a rampage in the second inning, putting up a dozen runs. Chino tacked on a couple more runs and sent the Lady Minotaurs packing after just three innings by a final score of 18-1 on Monday.
Freshman Kinsey Murphy hurled another gem, giving up just one hit while striking out nine. She also helped her own cause at the plate with two doubles and four RBIs.
Rebecca Sanders went 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Maleah Garcia drove in two runs and scored three runs. Brielle Bell had two RBIs. Aden Hubble went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI. Jamie Felton crossed the plate three times and drove in a run.
The win evens the Lady Cougars’ overall record at 7-7 on the season.
