Yavapai College has a new athletic director. Tim Kneip has been hired to fill the position. He takes over for Michael Tenette, who left in December. The college did not put out a release on the reason for Tenette’s departure.
Kneip recently served as the director of operations for Volo Sports in New York City, where he managed 15 adult sports and several athletic events throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Before that, Kneip held leadership positions for Fortune 500 companies in the fitness, high-tech, manufacturing, and automotive industries.
He also was a three-time national BMX champion and was inducted into the Texas BMX Hall of Fame. It was in Texas where Kneip served as president of the Capital City BMX Association. He also holds a master’s in sports business management from Columbia University.
Kneip officially begins his role as Yavapai College athletic director on April 21st.
