With the lousy weather moving through Yavapai County Thursday, the Prescott softball team wanted to get in their game with Agua Fria as quickly as possible. To that end, the Lady Badgers started off by scoring five runs in the first inning. They got just two runs in the second, before going on a tear in the third inning, putting up 12 runs. The game ended in three-and-a-half innings on the run rule, with a final score of 19-1.
Belle Mazon went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, four runs scored, and was a home run away from the cycle. Gracie Pereira was the winning pitcher with ten strikeouts. She also drove in three runs. Lily James and Mariah Smolnikar both drove in three runs. Eva Mazon went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a run driven in.
Prescott is now 4-6 on the season. They are at Lee Williams next Tuesday.
Also from Thursday, the Prescott boys and girls tennis teams bested North Canyon by identical scores of 9-0.
