Local scoreboard from yesterday, in baseball, Yavapai College swept its three-game series with Community Christian. Kevin Ramos had a home run and seven RBIs in the series. Embry-Riddle dropped back-to-back doubleheaders with Ottawa. Prescott obliterated Westview 20-1. Cooper Magnett had two doubles and four RBIs. Bradshaw Mountain leveled Mohave 12-2 and 20-1. Drew Strader had three RBIs and four runs scored in the second game. Chino Valley lost to Parker 8-6. Ryan Lamotte went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
In softball, Chino Valley derailed Parker 10-2. Kinsey Murphy got the win, striking out eleven and driving in two runs.
The Bradshaw Mountain boys volleyball team lost to Cactus Shadows 3-0.
he Chino Valley golf team finished fifth at the Sedona Invitational, with Brody Sandberg tied for 13th place.
In track and field, at the Sentinel Invitational, Prescott’s Luke Mason and Rylee Hobson both placed second in the boys and girls javelin, respectively. At the Sedona Invitational, Chino Valley’s Matt Sibole was second in the javelin. At the Scottsdale Distance Classic, Chino Valley’s Zoi Nagel finished ninth in the girls 1,600 meter run.
Uriah Tenette will not be going to UC San Diego. The Prescott basketball player has decommitted to the school. This comes following head coach Eric Olen’s exit to become the new coach for the University of New Mexico.
