All the rain and snow last week had zero impact on Yavapai County’s drought conditions. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, just like the previous few weeks, three-quarters of the county is in extreme drought. The northwestern part of the county is in severe drought, and the southwestern corner of the county near Congress is in exceptional drought.
As for the rest of the state, nearly three-quarters of Arizona is in extreme drought or severe drought. Parts of central and western Arizona are in exceptional drought.
Despite the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is moderate. Still, everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
