The storm system coming through Yavapai County will drop temperatures significantly. But once that system exits our area, the weather will warm up again, and many people will want to hit the trails around the county. Authorities are asking people to be careful when out hiking. The Sedona Fire Department reports an increase in calls to assist hikers in distress, especially in the areas of Slide Rock and Cathedral Rock.
Fire officials urge anyone who hikes to wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, make sure your cell phone is fully charged, and know your limits.
