Fire Danger High Again in the Prescott Nat’l Forest

The fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is back up to high. It was moderate last week. This is due to most of Yavapai County being in extreme drought. Everyone is urged to take precautions when out camping or hiking.

Make sure your campfire is completely out and ashes are cool to the touch before you leave. If you smoke, make sure to properly discard your cigarettes. Do not throw them into grass or brush.

When driving, check that no chains are dragging from your vehicle as they can throw out sparks. Also, do not park on grass, as the heat from under your vehicle can ignite the vegetation.
