PHS Girls Tennis Derails Goldwater

After a tough 5-4 loss to Flagstaff last week, the Prescott girls tennis team looked to get back on track Tuesday down in Phoenix. They were there to take on Goldwater. Some dominating performances in singles and doubles led to a 7-2 victory for the Lady Badgers.

Juliette Gundermann had the biggest battle of the day for Prescott, winning her match at number four singles 6-2, 0-6, and 10-8. Somer Huttman once again came through at number one singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win. She’s now 11-2 in singles. Ciara Coleman won her number two singles match 6-0, 6-2, and Mandy Hirasa was a winner at number five singles 6-1, 6-1.

Prescott won all its doubles matches, with the most competitive contest at number one doubles. Huttman and Coleman took that one 8-3.

The Lady Badgers are now 11-3 on the season. They wrap up the regular season with a home match today versus Eastmark.
