While it may be sunny this weekend, it will also be windy… very windy. The National Weather Service reports most areas of Yavapai County could experience gusts of between 30 to 40 miles per hour Friday and Saturday.
This will result in an elevated risk for wildfires. Everyone should take precautions to prevent a wildfire from breaking out. Do not throw cigarettes out your car window, do not park your car on grass as heat from under your vehicle can ignite the vegetation, and make sure no chains are dragging from your vehicle as that can create sparks.
Along those lines, be sure to use caution when driving a high-profile vehicle such as an RV, camper, or tractor trailer. Strong winds can cause them to go off course, lose stability, and even roll over.
