A Prescott Valley man is facing charges after firing shots into the air following a dispute Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 1:00 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the Castle Canyon Mesa area.
YCSO Public Information Officer Paul Wick, tells The News:
Bobby Mann did not fire at a residence or person, but YCSO says this incident serves as a serious reminder: firing a gun into the air is both dangerous and illegal.
In Arizona, that’s known as Shannon’s Law, passed after 14-year-old Shannon Smith was killed by a stray bullet while in her backyard in Phoenix in 1999.
Wick says Mann was arrested on several charges. YCSO says they are grateful that no one was injured.
