It was a situation the Prescott baseball team had been in quite a few times toward the end of the regular season… trailing early in the game, then coming back to get the win. In the opening round of state Saturday, the Badgers were down 3-0 to Flagstaff in the fourth inning when they rallied to take a 4-3 lead. That increased to 5-3 in the fifth, but the Eagles scored four in the sixth inning to go back on top.
Bottom of the seventh, Prescott pulled to within one, but Kingston Douthit was thrown out on a close play at home as number 14 Flagstaff upset number three Prescott 7-6.
Cooper Magnett scored two runs and tells The News:
According to Coach Hutch Hutchens:
Dominic Cruz, Colton Champion, and Luke Tobin each had two RBIs for the Badgers.
