After falling to the College of Southern Nevada 13-8 Thursday, the Yavapai College baseball team had to win in order to stay alive in the Region One playoffs. It did not look good for them as they trailed 6-0 after three innings in game two Friday. But the Roughriders went on a tear in the later innings and tied the score 7-7 in the seventh inning. YC then put up three runs in the ninth and held on for the 10-7 win.
Caleb Horsey had two RBIs and two runs scored. Brady Francisco went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Traig Oughton was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts.
That set the stage for game three Saturday, but the Roughriders could not duplicate their offensive outburst from Friday and fell to Southern Nevada 12-2. Yavapai concludes the 2025 season with an overall record of 33-22.
